Technology Transfer

With more than 150 products to market and 80 start-up companies launched, NC State continues to deliver real-world solutions and create jobs. The Office of Technology Transfer protects and promotes University research discoveries and intellectual property, forges partnerships with industry, and supports the launch of new ventures.

Partnerships + Economic Development

Partnerships and Economic Development builds mutually beneficial relationships between the University and industry, government agencies and non-profits; streamlines access to important resources to help partners and potential partners who want to work with the University; and assists businesses and other organizations that are interested in relocating to North Carolina or growing their footprint here.

Centennial Campus

NC State’s Centennial Campus is an extraordinary success story: a university research park and technology campus providing close proximity to world-class researchers, workers and students – all in an amenity-rich environment. Centennial partners with organizations s that have a desire to engage with the University, developing mutually beneficial relationships and adding value to the collaborative experience.

Sponsored Programs & Regulatory Compliance Services (SPARCS)

SPARCS assists with the submission of proposals, negotiation of agreements, and the administration of internally and externally funded projects through external partners such as federal and state governments and private industry. SPARCS also maintains primary regulatory compliance responsibilities, including human and animal subjects, conflicts of interest and commitment management, export controls, facility security matters, and research integrity.

Research Development

The Research Development Office facilitates the realization of strategic research objectives by enhancing collaborative research and laying the foundation for sustainable research growth. Multi-disciplinary projects corresponding to the University’s focused research initiatives are nurtured and supported; funding opportunities for faculty and researchers are made available in a centralized and easy-to-access portal; and support for large-scale projects is provided through strategy development, technical writing and budget creation.

Transportation. Climate. Coastal ecosystems. These are just a sampling of the complicated topics our interdisciplinary teams consider every day. Across the university, more than 50 centers and institutes bring together top researchers, students and partners to address real-world issues.

Integrated Support Services Center

ISSC provides proposal and administrative support for Principal Investigators across the University who are not associated with a college research office. Additionally, it provides accounting, financial and administrative services.

Federal Relations

Federal Relations serves as a primary liaison between NC State and the federal government, public policy makers and national organizations on issues related to higher education, research funding, and specific matters affecting students, faculty and staff.

Small Business Technology Development Center

The SBTDC is the state’s leading resource for growing and developing businesses. Since 1984, the center has helped more than 100,000 North Carolina business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs make better decisions, often leading to increased revenues and employment.
