NC State Ranks in Top 25 of Milken Institute Index

NC State made the top 25 of Milken Institute’s University Technology Transfer and Commercialization Index.  The index is based on data collected in the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) annual survey. The index evaluates the relative position of the quality of university research, applicable markets, and university technology transfer office performance in the U.S over a four year period using four key indicators: patents issued, licenses issued, licensing income, and start-ups formed. In these individual categories, NC State ranked:

  • 25th in patents issued (9th among ranked universities without a medical school)
  • 10th in licenses issued (4th among ranked universities without a medical school)
  • 18th in licensing income (6th among ranked universities without a medical school)
  • 21st in start-ups formed (9th among ranked universities without a medical school)
