What best describes your situation?

Please enter and submit your information into the Substitute Course Completion Form as soon as possible. A completed form must be received by the RCR Administrator to verify your successful completion.  An email from the RCR Administrator will confirm whether or not you have met your requirement. All forms of RCR training are only valid for three years from the date of completion.

Please complete the Substitute Course Form. The RCR Administrator must confirm your enrollment in the course. Please note that you must also email the RCR Administrator at rcr-administrator@ncsu.edu when you have successfully passed the course so this information can be recorded. You have until the end of the current semester to pass an NC State course.

Please forward the completion report and certificate from CITI to the RCR Administrator at rcr-administrator@ncsu.edu. The RCR Administrator must verify your successful completion and will send an email to confirm whether you have met your requirement or if further action is needed. All forms of RCR training are only valid for three years from the date of completion. Please note that CITI courses other than RCR are not approved to meet NSF or NIFA’s RCR training requirement.

If you are currently enrolled, please email rcr-administrator@ncsu.edu to notify the RCR Administrator, who will confirm your enrollment in the course. Please note that those who are currently enrolled in the CITI RCR course are required to complete the course by a six week deadline in order to meet NSF/NIFA’s RCR training requirement. Refer to the email notification you received for your due date or contact the RCR Administrator if you cannot locate your due date. CITI will notify the RCR Administrator when you have passed the course.

Please note that CITI courses other than RCR are not approved to meet NSF or NIFA’s RCR training requirement.

Courses that are not included in the list above have NOT been approved by the university as acceptable substitutions for the CITI RCR course. Generally, other classes, seminars, or professional development courses do not cover RCR topics broadly or extensively enough to be considered sufficient forms of RCR training for NSF/NIFA purposes.

Self-Directed Training

Pursuant to Rule 10.15.01, scholars must augment required training with self-directed training and awareness programming, such as professional society meetings, which often offer ethics awareness and training seminars. However, please note, self-directed training does not meet federal RCR training requirements.
