The government considers countries with military and related capabilities capable of posing a significant threat to U.S. national security to be Countries of Concern<\/strong>. At present, these countries include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Contact the NC State Research Security Team<\/a> for up-to-date guidance on working with institutions or colleagues in Countries of Concern<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sanctioned countries<\/strong> are subject to broad political, military and\/or economic sanctions through executive orders or federal law. Contact the NC State Export Control Office<\/a>\u00a0if your research, teaching or other university activities involve people or entities in comprehensively sanctioned or broadly sanctioned countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please visit Working with International Staff and Students | Research Administration and Compliance<\/a> to learn more about how these federal rules may impact NC State students and staff who are citizens of these countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Comprehensively sanctioned countries\/regions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We generally cannot conduct business with residents of the comprehensively sanctioned countries, even if they are not Entities of Concern<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Belarus, Russia, and Venezuela are all very broadly sanctioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Countries of Concern The government considers countries with military and related capabilities capable of posing a significant threat to U.S. national security to be Countries of Concern.
