The purpose is to determine if the investigator has capacity to carry out proposed research, as well as to help assess potential overlap\/duplication, disclose resources made available in support of and\/or related to all research efforts, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Income, salary, consulting fees, and honoraria in support of an individual\u2019s research endeavors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in a foreign talent or similar-type program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All resources made available to an individual in support and\/or related to all of the research efforts, regardless of whether or not they have monetary value<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All resources and other support both domestic and foreign, for ongoing research projects, including those conducted at a different institution. Include: office, laboratory space, equipment, supplies, employees, students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-kind contributions from domestic and foreign institutions or governments that support research activities (with or without time commitment)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NC State Internal Awards (ex. FRPD, RISF, CIF, NWI Core Projects, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Foreign Government Talent Recruitment Programs, Foreign Scholarship Awards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-Kind Support or Other Resources NOT intended for use on the proposed project (with\/without time commitment)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consulting activities when any of the following scenarios apply:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The consulting activity will require the senior\/key person to perform research as part of the consulting activity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The consulting activity does not involve performing research, but is related to the senior\/key person\u2019s research portfolio and may have the ability to impact funding, alter time or effort commitments, or otherwise impact scientific integrity; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The consulting entity has provided a contract that requires the senior\/key person to conceal or withhold confidential financial or other ties between the senior\/key person and the entity, irrespective of the duration of the engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to making a funding recommendation, the cognizant NSF program officer will request that an updated version of Current and Pending (Other) Support be submitted via Research.gov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After an award is made if the AOR discovers that a disclosure that should have been submitted at the time of proposal submission, but was not, they have 30 days to submit a post-award request to NSF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of project reporting Senior Personnel must specify whether new, active other support has been received in their annual and final project reports. Proposers should describe only those resources that are directly applicable. Proposers should include an aggregated description of the internal and external resources (both physical and personnel) that the organization and its collaborators will provide to the project, should it be funded. Such information must be provided in this section, in lieu of other parts of the proposal (e.g., Budget Justification, Project Description). The description should be narrative in nature and must not include any quantifiable financial information. The report becomes overdue the day after the end of the current budget period if it has not been submitted by the PI and approved by the cognizant NSF Program Officer.<br><br>The report becomes overdue the day after the 90-day period ends. Failure to submit timely reports will delay processing of additional funding and administrative actions, including, but not limited to, no cost extensions. In the case of continuing grants, failure to submit timely reports will delay processing of funding increments.
