Eight NC State startup companies chosen to participate in the 2014 CED TechVenture Conference

Eight of the 82 companies chosen to participate in the 2014 CED TechVenture Conference are NC State startups.

As a major driver of the Research Triangle Regions innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem with over 100 startup companies launched, NC State University’s Office of Technology Transfer is proud to partner with the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) through the CED Tech Venture conference.  “CED has developed the premiere conference platform in the Southeast through their years of relationship building with the investment community, and we consider joining forces and assisting our startup companies to engage to be a win-win strategy,” said Wade Fulghum, Assistant Director Venture Development.  NC State is able to showcase the startup company opportunities and engage them with the strategic partners and investors that this conference is able to attract.

This year Tethis, Inc. was selected as a “Showcase Company” and was able to tell their story in front of 600 attendees at the conference.

In addition, Intelligent Campus Solutions, Inc. (Livitae™)
 was selected as one of the only two companies amongst the 82 presenting to be invited by IBM to attend their Smart Camp in San Francisco in November 2014.  IBM SmartCamps are exclusive events aimed at identifying early stage entrepreneurs who are developing business ventures that align with IBM’s strategy.  SmartCamps enable technical startups to take advantage of mentoring opportunities, learn from thought leaders, and network with other entrepreneurs, investment firms, academic leaders, and industry and technology experts. SmartCamps give selected startups the opportunity to connect with the venture community.
