Zahra Ashrafi

Licensing Analyst Intern

As a Licensing Analyst at the NC State’s Office of Research Commercialization (ORC), Zahra works closely with the Licensing Team to assist in protecting and transferring intellectual property coming out of the university. Zahra graduated from NC State University with a Ph.D. of Fiber and Polymer Science and a minor degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2019.

Prior to her Internship at the ORC, Zahra worked as an Intellectual Property Specialist for a material company in CT and before that as an intern at liquid and air filter company in Raleigh. She plans to pursue a postdoc in the Research Triangle region with the intention of the commercialization of new knowledge and technologies.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching series/movies, taking long walks, and playing badminton.
