Startup companies from NC State were well represented during the Tech Venture Conference 2015 this year. The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)<\/a> held their annual event on September 15-16 at the Raleigh Convention Center. Over 1,000 entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders, and domain experts from across the country attended the conference. The theme for the event was \u201cScaling Up\u201d, a topic designed to showcase\u00a0the region’s growth-stage companies and highlight recent success stories.<\/p>\n

To kick things off, CED President and CEO Joan Siefert Rose announced that 85 North Carolina companies in life sciences, technology, cleantech, and advanced manufacturing and materials raised $427 million in funding through the first half of 2015<\/a>. Out of the 90 equity investment deals, 74 were located in the Triangle region. Of those 74 deals, 24 were from Raleigh companies and 21 came from Durham companies.<\/p>\n

The Tech Venture Conference 2015 also featured\u00a0the most promising emerging companies in North Carolina. More than 125 of North Carolina\u2019s emerging and growth-stage technology companies were featured. The NC State Office of Technology Transfer continues to collaborate with CED by\u00a0participating in the annual Tech Venture\u00a0and Life Science conferences. “The CED Tech Venture Conference serves as a great forum for our companies to effectively meet\u00a0influential\u00a0strategic partners, customers, and investors. The CED Tech Venture conference continues to grow and gets better every year,” said Wade Fulghum, Assistant Director of Venture Development. \u00a0NC State was represented in the Demo Room by Lumeova<\/a>, Polymer Braille, Kyma Technologies<\/a>, Fusion 3<\/a>, and in the Lightning Round by Atmospheric Plasma Solutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n
