{"id":7244,"date":"2014-09-18T17:06:01","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T21:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/otcnv\/?p=7244"},"modified":"2023-01-27T21:54:57","modified_gmt":"2023-01-27T21:54:57","slug":"eight-nc-state-startup-companies-chosen-to-participate-in-the-2014-ced-techventure-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/commercialization\/2014\/09\/18\/eight-nc-state-startup-companies-chosen-to-participate-in-the-2014-ced-techventure-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight NC&#160;State startup companies chosen to participate in the 2014 CED TechVenture Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eight of the 82 companies chosen to participate in the 2014 <a class=\"external\" title=\"This link will take you to an external site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cednc.org\/?page=techventure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CED TechVenture Conference<\/a> are NC State startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a major driver of the Research Triangle Regions innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem with over 100 startup companies launched, <a title=\"NC State University\u2019s Office of Technology Transfer\" href=\"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/commercialization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NC State University\u2019s Office of Technology Transfer<\/a> is proud&nbsp;to partner with the&nbsp;<a class=\"external\" title=\"This link will take you to an external site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cednc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)<\/a> through the CED Tech Venture conference.&nbsp; \u201cCED has developed the premiere conference platform in the Southeast through their years of relationship building with the investment community, and we consider joining forces and assisting our startup companies to engage to be a win-win strategy,\u201d said Wade Fulghum, Assistant Director Venture Development.&nbsp; NC State is able to showcase&nbsp;the startup company opportunities and&nbsp;engage them with the strategic partners and investors that this conference is able to attract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year <a class=\"external\" title=\"This link will take you to an external site\" href=\"http:\/\/tethis.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tethis, Inc.<\/a> was selected as a \u201c<a class=\"external\" title=\"This link will take you to an external site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cednc.org\/?page=TechVenDemoCos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Showcase Company<\/a>\u201d and&nbsp;was able to tell their story in front of 600 attendees at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, Intelligent Campus Solutions, Inc. (Livitae\u2122)\u2028 was selected as one of the only two companies amongst the 82 presenting to be invited by <a class=\"external\" title=\"This link will take you to an external site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ibm.com\/us\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IBM<\/a> to attend their Smart Camp in San Francisco in November 2014.&nbsp; IBM SmartCamps are exclusive events aimed at identifying early stage entrepreneurs who are developing business ventures that align with IBM\u2019s strategy.&nbsp; SmartCamps enable technical startups to take advantage of mentoring opportunities, learn from thought leaders, and network with other entrepreneurs, investment firms, academic leaders, and industry and technology experts.
