METRIC is only permitted to facilitate research that has been approved at the departmental level for re-start during Phase I.

For approved projects, samples will be accepted starting May 26, 2020 and the procedure for requesting services and submitting samples can be found below.

High Resolution Accurate Mass

Users should continue to utilize the MENDIX Lab Management Portal (www.labs.ncsu.edu) for sample submission requests.   Samples will be accepted beginning Tuesday, May 26 and samples can be submitted in Dabney 23.

Please disinfect your samples upon submission using available supplies, observe social distancing guidelines and use appropriate PPE at these drop sites.

GC-MS and MALDI-TOF

METRIC scientists will now collect all data for projects of a reasonable sample size, but this will be charged at the self-use rate for currently trained users.  Staff will be available to collaborate virtually with users over platforms such as zoom when requested.

Proteomics, Metabolomics and Targeted Assays

METRIC scientists will be focused on completion of projects already in the queue and the assigned METRIC scientist for each project will communicate with the requestor in the coming weeks as we begin the Phase I limited research restart.

ICP-MS Metallomics

Metallomics studies will not be re-started during Phase I. The assigned METRIC scientist for each project will communicate with the requestor of all ICP-MS projects in the queue.

Mass Spectrometry Imaging

New MS instrumentation is arriving in June and will be interfaced with the MALDESI source.  The focus during the Phase I re-start for MSI will be installation, interfacing, and testing. The assigned METRIC scientist for each project will communicate with the requestor of all MSI projects in the queue.

New Projects

METRIC MS will not be able to accommodate new consultation requests due to the fact we have to re-start the METRIC research laboratories and that we have numerous projects in the queue that we need to complete over the coming months that were halted due to the shutdown.
