{"id":108,"date":"2020-04-17T17:53:13","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T17:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.research.ncsu.edu\/metric-alt\/?page_id=108"},"modified":"2026-05-28T17:23:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T17:23:39","slug":"financial-agreements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/metric\/getting-started-legacy\/financial-agreements\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lab Management Portal streamlines the approval and tracking process by allowing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Principal Investigators (PIs):<\/strong>&nbsp;Easily authorize spending from grant funds, start-up funds, or other funding sources and to designate personnel allowed to use these accounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Business Officers:<\/strong>&nbsp;Seamlessly track funds allocated to service centers for instrument time and services at both the college and departmental levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please follow the instructions below to create a financial agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a METRIC Financial Agreement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> These instructions are for NC State PIs only.   <strong>External Users<\/strong> should arrange a consultation with METRIC staff and complete a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/metric\/files\/2026\/05\/METRIC-Service-Order-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Services Order Form<\/a><\/strong>.  A <strong>Lab Use Agreement <\/strong>will also be required if working onsite. ID card acquisition will be facilitated by METRIC administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PI-Initiated Financial Agreement Request<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1: Email notification of agreement request<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Step 2: Login with Unity ID at <a
