Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience

About Us

This group consists of investigators at NC State who conduct studies on neurons and glia at the cellular and molecular level. Particular focus is on genetic, molecular, and cellular basis of neuronal and glial functions in various disciplines of biology in the developing, adult, and aging nervous system. Research approaches span a diverse spectrum from genetic and molecular signalling in the nervous system, electrophysiologic dissection of functions and behaviors, to neuroendocrinological and other systems level regulations in the nervous system. Techniques used range from molecular and biochemical, state-of-the-art imaging, single-cell recording and behavioural studies to large-scale neural circuit manipulations.
