The Wolfpack Investor Network (WIN) was launched in the Fall of 2016 and serves as a mechanism to connect NC State alumni investors with promising NC State-affiliated startup companies to facilitate angel investments.
WIN provides a new avenue for engaging the enthusiasm, resources and expertise of NC State alumni investors. The network also provides the opportunity to showcase the entrepreneurial talents of our students, faculty, and alumni and is a way for the university community to invest back in its best and brightest.
WIN is a collaborative effort between NC State’s Office of Research Innovation and Economic Development (ORIED); the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science; the Poole College of Management; and the Entrepreneurship Initiative; and also works in tandem with the Duke Angel Network (DAN) and the Carolina Angel Network (CAN), with the three networks constituting the Triangle Venture Alliance (TVA).
Interested companies submit an online application and are screened by a selection committee for investor readiness. If approved, the company will be reviewed by the investor group and then move on to diligence.
During the diligence process, the company will have the opportunity to pitch in front of interested WIN investors, who can then subscribe to the investment opportunity. The WIN operating team will then work with the company and interested investors to structure and complete the investment transaction.
You can find more information about the investment process here.
