Our office is comprised of several groups \u2014 introduced below \u2014 whose general functions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laying the foundation for sustainable research growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning strategies to pursue large-scale projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing limited-submission funding opportunities and the Office of Research and Innovation&#8217;s internal seed-funding programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing NC State\u2019s research infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing administrative oversight for centers and institutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funding<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"ncst-fancy-paragraph-fifty is-text wp-block-ncst-fancy-paragraph\">\n                  <p class=\"fancy-paragraph__text fancy-paragraph-left\">\n            RDO assists faculty and staff in finding research funding for individual, collaborative and cross-disciplinary research.&nbsp;Our funding staff are responsible for the identification and dissemination of funding opportunities and other key resources in support of research initiatives. RDO manages a variety of internally sponsored funding programs in support of research and scholarship activities at NC State, including opportunities for seed funding of research\/scholarship projects as well as funds to procure research instrumentation. Many of these UNC System-recognized units receive significant federal funding from NIH, NSF, NOAA, NASA, USDA and DOI. Working groups are interdisciplinary in nature, and open to any NC State faculty, staff, and students with area interest.
