NSF CAREER Proposal Workshop<\/h3>\n \n\n \n\t \t

The National Science Foundation\u2019s prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers support for early-career faculty seeking to build strong foundations for research and education in their respective fields.
In March the PDU hosted a workshop covering key aspects of proposal development for faculty interested in submitting a CAREER proposal. You can access recordings and slides for each session at the link below.

The Proposal Development Unit invites the NC State community to our webinar series that will provide you with insights and techniques to think strategically about grant writing. The PDU will balance general guidance with specific examples to help faculty navigate differences among major federal funding agencies (e.g. NSF, NIH, DOD, USDA) and foundations. Topics this year include Searching for Funding Opportunities, Exploring Foundations Funding, Mastering Reviewer Feedback and Understanding the Grant Lifecycle.

DOD Funding Podcast<\/h3>\n \n\n \n\t \t

The PDU podcast series with\u00a0Department of Defense-funded researchers at NC State\u00a0has a\u00a0new episode out. Carla Monroe, Senior Proposal Developer in the PDU, talks with Dr. Harald Ade, a Professor in the\u00a0NC State College of Sciences whose research focuses on materials physics, particularly as related to\u00a0organic solar cells. He is the director for the campus cluster\u00a0ORaCEL (Organic and Carbon Electronics Laboratories) and has a long-term funding relationship with the Office of Naval Research (ONR).<\/p>\n\t \t \n

Proposal Development Support<\/h2>\n

The Proposal Development Unit (PDU) supports faculty teams by improving proposal competitiveness of large-scale, interdisciplinary research proposals.  These services include strategy consultation and ideation, team facilitation and review, non-technical writing and graphics support, budgeting, editing, formatting and proposal preparation \u2014 enabling investigators to concentrate on the research-related aspects of their proposals. PDU support is available to NC State faculty who are planning proposals with estimated total budgets of at least $1 million.<\/p>\n \n
