{"id":210,"date":"2017-06-15T13:29:36","date_gmt":"2017-06-15T17:29:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/win\/?p=210"},"modified":"2024-01-08T16:52:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T21:52:39","slug":"ncsu-expands-entrepreneurship-roles-for-lewis-sheats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.ncsu.edu\/win\/ncsu-expands-entrepreneurship-roles-for-lewis-sheats\/","title":{"rendered":"<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wraltechwire.com\/2017\/06\/15\/ncsu-expands-entrepreneurship-roles-for-lewis-sheats\/\">NCSU expands entrepreneurship roles for Lewis Sheats<\/a>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n<p>Lewis Sheats is taking on additional roles at North Carolina State where he has been a driving force in expanding entrepreneurship programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLewis has been a tireless innovator and advocate for entrepreneurship education in the Poole College of Management for many years,\u201d said Tom Miller, senior vice provost for academic outreach at NC State. \u201cI\u2019m excited to have his role expanded to include campus-wide responsibilities through which he can have an even greater impact in building NC State\u2019s entrepreneurial culture and programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sheats is now the holder of three titles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assistant vice provost for entrepreneurship at NC State University,<\/li>\n<li>Executive director of the NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic based in Poole College<\/li>\n<li>Associate professor of practice in Poole College<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Entrepreneurship Clinic launched under Sheats in January of 2015. He is a member of the Poole College of Management\u2019s Department of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship faculty<\/p>\n<div id=\"blueconic-newsletter-story\"><\/div>\n<p>Sheats also becomes a member of the NC State Entrepreneurship leadership team after his new roles were\u00a0approved by the North Carolina Board of Governors earlier this month. He reports to Miller and Annette Ranft, dean of the Poole College.<\/p>\n<p>And he will be busy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSheats is serving the university in building an alliance model of entrepreneurship at NC State, including the integration of Poole College\u2019s entrepreneurship activities with those of the NC State Entrepreneurship Initiative based in the Office of the Provost.
