RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014\u00a0Get Spiffy \u2014 an on-demand car care, technology and services company led by serial entrepreneur Scot Wingo \u2014 is setting up shop on the West Coast.<\/p>\n

The RTP-based startup announced today it has opened a new office\u00a0in the San Francisco Bay area.<\/p>\n

Wingo said the expansion positions Spiffy to address the growing car care needs of autonomy and shared mobility companies that coalesce with electrification and connectivity \u2014 part of an industry mega-trend he calls \u201cVehicle 2.0.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new location puts us right in the midst of disruptive companies in the automotive industry that require an evolving mobile maintenance solution,\u201d he said in a statement.\u201d We\u2019ve been fortunate to work with top ride hailing, car sharing, and autonomous fleets and this expansion will help us better serve them, while growing our footprint in a global hub for innovation.<\/p>\n

Establishing a Silicon Valley presence also offers the opportunity to directly manage West Coast fleet clients, he added, while tapping into the region\u2019s diverse pool of talent.<\/p>\n

Leading the West Coast office is Garrison Ramoso, who recently joined Spiffy as director of Business Development. He had a previous stint as senior director of Business Development at YourMechanic and served various management roles at eBay and SurveyMonkey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m impressed by the work that Scot and the rest of the team has done to this point, especially in the past year, and excited by the opportunities that lie ahead of us,\u201d Ramoso said.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2014 by Karl Murphy and Scot Wingo in RTP, Spiffy is on the mission to redefine the car care experience everywhere. Spiffy offers a variety of hand car washing, advanced detailing, oil change and maintenance service options. Every service is performed on-site at fleets, office parks, and residences using the Spiffy Green system.\u00a0Customers can schedule in less than two minutes with the Spiffy app.<\/p>\n

Last June, Spiffy closed on more than $10 million in new venture capital, adding six markets and a new fleet management service. It is now in more than 20 markets with more than 200 vans and 300 technicians.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
