About
On January 30, 2026, the ISI is hosting the third annual Integrative Symposium of NC State Training Grants, bringing together in true interdisciplinary fashion eight of the NIH funded T32 programs for a day of talks and posters from trainees, and talks from eminent external keynote speakers. T32 training programs support the comprehensive development of trainees through coursework, opportunities to enhance research collaborations, career development activities, and training in presentation and ideation.
Included NC State T32 Training Programs
Molecular Biotechnology Training Program
The Molecular Biotechnology Training Program (MBTP, NIGMS, T32GM133366) aims to enrich research and training in molecular biotechnology to support training for careers across a broad range of disciplines.
NC State Comparative Medicine and Translational Research Training Program
The NC State Comparative Medicine and Translational Research Training Program (CMTRTP, OD, T32OD011130), emphasizes comparative and translational research and provides experience in multidisciplinary research programs towards obtaining a PhD, designed to prepare postgraduate veterinary specialists (DVM) for an early career development award and a rapid transition to independence in a research-intensive career.
Molecular Pathways to Pathogenesis in Toxicology Training Grant
The Molecular Pathways to Pathogenesis in Toxicology Training Grant (NIEHS, T32ES007046) trains the next generation of toxicologists to conduct high impact research, communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences, and work as part of multidisciplinary teams to understand how human health is impacted by environmental factors.
Chemistry of Life Training Program
The Chemistry of Life Training Program (CLP, NIGMS, T32GM141887) is preparing the next generation of scientists fluent in team science and chemistry across the life sciences.
Comparative Molecular Medicine Training Program
The Comparative Molecular Medicine Training Program (CMMTP, NIGMS, T32GM133393) is training the next generation of scientists with the skills needed to successfully lead interdisciplinary biomedical research teams.
Environmental Health Bioinformatics T32 Training Program
The Environmental Health Bioinformatics T32 training program (EHB, NIEHS, T32ES007329) (leverages the unique confluence of strengths in Data Science and Environmental Health Science at NC State to train scientists fluent in this critical interdisciplinary space. This data-intensive training program will produce scientists ready to meet the emerging challenges in environmental health research, including the ever-expanding exposome, understanding of variability between individuals, rational integration across massive data sets, and study designs that incorporate a wide range of community goals and needs.
Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship Program
The U.S. Department of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship Program at North Carolina State University supports graduate students who are pursuing doctoral degrees in the areas of Cybersecurity for Electrical Power Systems, Molecular Biotechnology, Nanoscale Electronic and Energy Materials (NEEM), Nuclear Science and Engineering, and Scientific Computation.
Integrated Biostatistical Training Program for CVD Research
The Integrated Biostatistical Training Program for CVD Research (NHLBI, T32) The Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University (NCSU), the Department of Biotatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University, and the Duke Clinical Research Institute at Duke University administer this integrated program for predoctoral training in biostatistics to prepare trainees for careers in biomedical research, with a focus on cardiovascular disease (CVD) research.
