“Octi” Wiggly, the CMIF Mascot

Octi received his education from the MBL in Woods Hole (MA) and was a long time office companion of Dr. Nina Allen, the past director of CMIF. He has been lending an arm or 2 (or all 8 if he feels like it) to help out in the facility after Dr. Allen’s retirement.

Since the arrival of the Zeiss LSM 710 confocal Octi calls 4113 Gardner Hall his new home. There he cheers on new confocal users and gives his 2 cents of advice here and there. “It’s so exciting to look at all these nice images”, he says, “much better than hanging out in the office.”
