Abstract: We have recently identified the E3 ubiquitin ligase as a critical catalytic component downstream of the axon guidance cue Netrin during neuronal development. TRIM9 interacts with the Netrin receptor DCC, regulators of the actin cytoskeleton, and vesicle trafficking machinery. Using biochemical techniques, high resolution microscopy, and mouse models we show that TRIM9 controls vesicle exocytosis, filopodia formation and axon guidance and branching.
