Getting to Know RED

The Research Enterprise Data (RED) system (Unity ID required) is an enterprise-level software system used for managing research administration at NC State, which replaces RADAR and will eventually replace PINS and NC State’s regulatory-compliance software management systems.

Tips for Success in RED

  • Try clearing your browser cache if you run into problems accessing RED.
  • Drag system pop-ups down for full visibility.
  • Save your changes often — and log out of RED every time. The system times out after 60 minutes of inactivity.

Clearing the Cache

Clearing your browser cache can resolve many problems related to how and if pages are loading.

Enabling Browser Pop-ups

RED makes use of pop-up windows, so an important step in using the system is enabling pop-ups in your browser of choice. For optimal performance when using RED, we recommend Google Chrome.
