Office of Research Commercialization Announces Leadership Transitions

The Office of Research Commercialization (ORC) recently announced a leadership change within its Office of Technology Licensing and Office of New Ventures and Investments units.

Wade Fulghum, assistant vice chancellor of new ventures and investments, is leaving NC State to accept an opportunity with the nonprofit organization NCInnovation. Fulghum has worked for ORC since 2011 and has been with NC State since 2007. Learn more about his impact on NC State research commercialization and startup support.

Kultaran Chohan, assistant vice chancellor of technology and licensing, is also leaving NC State to accept an opportunity with the University of Pennsylvania. Chohan has worked for ORC as a technology licensing leader since 2012. Learn more about his successful track record protecting and promoting NC State innovations.

The leadership of both Fulghum and Chohan has seen NC State recognized on a national scale for its success in supporting innovators and commercializing university research discoveries, and both played a key role in the creation of a strong infrastructure to support technology transfer at NC State.

Tim Martin will serve as interim assistant vice chancellor of new ventures and investments and Brian Eller will serve as interim assistant vice chancellor of technology and licensing moving forward.
