Textile Sensor Patch, Made with Conductive Yarns, Could Detect Pressure Points for Amputees
A soft, flexible sensor system created with electrically conductive yarns could help map problematic pressure points in the socket of an amputee’s prosthetic limb, researchers from NC State report in a new study. The research team includes Tushar Ghosh, the William A. Klopman Distinguished Professor of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science, and Helen Huang, the Jackson Family Distinguished Professor in the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering.
