The Office of Research and Innovation provides cutting-edge platforms for our university’s world-class investigators, inventors and innovators to collaborate and discover across disciplines.

Amplifying Faculty Voices

Our four Research Advisory Committees provide pathways for research faculty and staff to voice their opinions to leadership and among one another. The committees meet jointly at least once a year to discuss the state of research at the university and help shape NC State’s research strategy.

Research Leadership Academy

The Research Leadership Academy (RLA) operates as the faculty-driven epicenter for developing and implementing best practices in the empowerment of NC State research faculty at all levels.

University Research Committee

The University Research Committee (URC) represents research faculty from each academic college. Chaired by a faculty member, the URC is the faculty’s voice to research administration.

Research Operations Council

Chaired by the vice chancellor for research, the Research Operations Council (ROC) is made up of associate deans for research and other research stakeholders.

Research Support Council

Led by an executive committee, the Research Support Council (RSC) is the research administration staff component of the vice chancellor’s research advisory committees.

NC State works with military and civilian partners to improve our nation’s defense by bringing an eager research mindset to focus on big national security issues.

Research Administration and Support Services Initiative

Three task forces were charged to identify the most pressing issues impacting research administration and support services (RASS) at NC State. The task forces are in the midst of several projects to help improve our research infrastructure.
