Chris Martinez

New Ventures Program Manager

Chris Martinez is the New Ventures Program Manager for the NC State Office of Research Commercialization. His primary responsibilities include working with community partners and collaborators within the North Carolina innovation ecosystem to build relationships, discover and share resources, and serve as a point of contact for New Ventures programs and resources. Additionally, Chris provides leadership to the ORC’s Executives in Residence (XIR) program, ensuring that innovators have the opportunity to consult with and learn from some of the leading experts in their respective fields.

Previously, Chris spent over twenty years working in the non-profit arena, most recently as a Chief Human Resources Officer. During that time Chris provided leadership to state and national conferences, developed a number of coaching and mentoring programs, and served as a national trainer and consultant in the areas of organizational culture and diversity & inclusion.

Chris received his B.S. degree with a concentration in Non-Profit Business Management from Springfield College. In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his several pets, creating delicious vegan dishes, and training for half marathons.
