Fostering growth and collaboration

We support interdisciplinary research collaborations and lay the foundation for sustainable research growth.

The Research Development Office (RDO) is a key unit within the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI). We assist with the strategic planning and development of large interdisciplinary research projects; identify and announce funding opportunities, coordinate the submission process for limited submission opportunities, and manage ORI’s internal seed-funding programs; and oversee the university’s Shared Core Research Facilities, Centers and Institutes, and industrial consortia.

Researchers Show Polymer Kills COVID-19 On Surfaces

Researchers from North Carolina State University, Boston University and Kraton Corporation have demonstrated a family of self-sterilizing polymers that are effective at inactivating coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes COVID-19. The work opens the door to a suite of applications that could help to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and other diseases.
