Jason Lamb, J.D., L.L.M.

Senior Licensing Associate

As a Senior Licensing Associate with a multidisciplinary background, Jason co-manages innovations from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and manages commercialization efforts in software, databases, and data. He brings experience in copyright, patent, e-commerce and internet law, with a specific focus on contract negotiation and drafting, IP licensing, and software licensing and due diligence. Additionally, Jason brings experience with business development, and early stage venture formation, funding, and governance.

Prior to joining the NC State Office of ORC as a Licensing Associate in 2015, Jason worked with ORC for nearly a year and a half as an Intern and then as a Licensing Analyst.

Jason earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Drexel University in 2001, after which he gained nearly 10 years of industry experience in IT, software programming, and application development. He then earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2013, where he was named a Temple Law and Public Policy Scholar for his work in telecommunications law and policy. In 2014 he earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law and Entrepreneurship from Duke University School of Law. Jason is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and licensed as an attorney in Pennsylvania. He is also a registered patent attorney licensed to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Outside of work he enjoys various side programming and entrepreneurial projects, cheering on Philadelphia pro sports teams (especially the Eagles and Sixers), and spending time with wife and 2 children.
