Getting Started

METRIC can be accessed via our Lab Management Portal for all Training Requests, Consultation Requests and Letter of Support Requests. If you are unsure of where to begin, please submit a consultation request and we will be happy to guide you through the Lab Management portal in order to accomplish your research goals.

METRIC Lab

Accessing METRIC

Self Use

  • Login with your unity ID in the Lab Management Portal
  • Request Training here
  • An assigned METRIC team member will be in contact within ten business days to schedule training
  • After training is completed, Building and Room Access can be requested from the Lab Manager.

Assisted Use

  • Login with your unity ID in the Lab Management Portal
  • From the “My Account” tab, select Schedule Time, Request a Service
  • Select the core facility of interest, METRIC
  • Navigate to the METRIC platform technology of interest and select Consultation Request where you can attach any pertinent information to the project (papers, protocols, structures, etc.)
  • An assigned METRIC team member will be in contact within ten business days to schedule a consultation

Letter of Support Requests

  • If you would like to use our facility as part of a grant application, please request a letter of support from the platform of interest via the Lab Management Portal
  • Once we have received your request, we can discuss your budget as well as provide you with our facilities and resources document to include in your grant application.
  • To ensure the best quality letter, please submit your request at least ten business days in advance to any grant deadlines.

  • Please reach out to our METRIC program specialist in order to complete a Services Order Form (an agreement to pay for instrument time) and a Lab Use Agreement (liability for external users utilizing METRIC laboratories)
  • After training is completed, Building and Room Access can be requested from the Lab Manager

Assisted Use

  • Create an Account in the Lab Management Portal
  • Navigate to the METRIC platform of interest and Request Consultation
  • First Time User? Please request an agreement and the METRIC program specialist will reach out with our Services Order Form (an agreement to pay for instrument time)
