MR Platform Policies

  • A Financial Agreement (internal users) or Services Order Form (external users) must be in place before services commence
  • All PIs are responsible for maintaining active financial agreements in MENDIX, including setting up agreements for new grant awards and adding and removing participants as the research group changes over time
  • METRIC will provide raw data files to clients for transfer to their own storage device; METRIC will store raw and processed data for a maximum of 1 year post-analysis, after which METRIC assumes no responsibility for data storage.
  • All users agree to cite METRIC in any publications or grant proposals for which data collected in METRIC is used for
  • Authorship of scientific papers should include individuals who make meaningful and substantive contributions to the intellectual content of the work to be published.
  • NCSU Laboratory Safety Training is required for all users
  • Training for specific equipment can be requested here

  • Access to NMR buildings and rooms can be requested after training here
  • NMR tubes must be removed from the autosamplers in a timely fashion. Tubes left at 4PM two days after the sample was run will be removed and placed in a recycle bin. Users should make arrangements to pick up tubes in a timely fashion
  • Care should be taken with samples. If a user breaks a sample on the floor, they are responsible for cleanup, which may need to be coordinated with EHS. 
  • In the event of damage to the MR equipment through misuse or negligence of a user, the user’s PI or the external customer if applicable, will be responsible for covering the cost of repairs.
  • If an instrument goes down during use, report here.
  • Any changes in hardware (probe swaps, autosampler removal, etc.) must be approved in writing and coordinated with METRIC MR Staff.
  • NCSU Laboratory Safety Training is required for all users
  • No External Hard Drives or Flash Drives, Web Surfing or Program Downloads on Data Acquisition Computers
  • Violations of these policies will result in the following actions: 
  • 1st Violation: User will be notified of the violation and reminded of the MR facility’s policies.
  • 2nd Violation: user will lose self-access privileges for 1 week and must use sample submission to obtain MR data.
  • 3rd Violation: User will lose self-access privileges for no less than 6 months and must use sample submission to obtain MR data

  • A Financial Agreement must be in place before any self-use or assisted-use services commence

  • A Lab Use Agreement must be in place before external customers can come on site
  • ID card acquisition will be facilitated by METRIC administration
  • Building and Room Access will be requested by the METRIC MR platform following training
  • Use of variable temperature, flow probe, or spinners for variable temperature require training and supervision. Please submit a consult request when you need use these accessories.
