NC State has a wealth of resources to assist faculty and staff in developing proposals for sponsored project funding. Having an established proposal development process helps ensure that our researchers are able to develop successful proposals.

Contact the College Research Office
Contact your college research office (CRO) for consultation on requests for proposals (RFP), budgets and budget justifications. CROs have internal deadlines to ensure adequate time to review proposal documentation before proposals are submitted to the sponsor or routed to Sponsored Programs.
PINS
Upload the final version of your proposal in PINS. If the proposal requires your signature, consult your college office before signing it.
- Prepare a PINS Record
- Upload Documents into PINS
- Initiate PINS Routing and Approve
- Department Head, Center Director (if relevant) and college approve PINS Record
Proposal Sent to the Sponsor after College Review
NC State has designated authorized official representatives that have the authority to sign and submit proposals, as well as contracts and/or agreements.
